The Leningrad Cowboys were originally created as a fictional band for the film Leningrad Cowboys Go America. But the actual band that portrayed the fictional band in the film decided they liked this act much better, so they stuck with it. They appear with the Soviet Red Army Choir quite often and here they are singing "Sweet Home Alabama" at the 11th MTV Movie Awards in 1994.
